Research Standards

Showing how conclusions are reached

The Evidence Register is designed to make the research process transparent.

Important claims can be linked to maps, archive records, photographs, newspapers, planning documents, field observations or reliable published works.

Where the evidence is incomplete, the confidence rating explains how strongly a conclusion is supported and what further information is still needed.

Confirmed Evidence

Supported directly by clear, reliable and relevant primary or authoritative sources.

Probable Interpretation
